Trail Nation was established by running coach and Salomon trail running ambassador Christian Servini. Based in South Wales, it aims to encourage more people into trail running, and through coaching, equip people with the skills, knowledge and mindset to help them achieve their trail and ultra running goals.

Christian writes “I grew up in the hills of the South Wales Valleys, and I’ve been running as long as I can remember. But it wasn’t until 2012 that I connected my love of running with my (greater) love for mountains and the outdoors.

Getting into trail and ultra running wasn’t easy though. I learnt everything the hard way: books, magazines, blog posts, podcasts etc. I would then put that limited knowledge to the test in races and events. Needless to say, I made a lot of mistakes. But through those experiences I learned valuable lessons which made me determined to keep expanding my knowledge and understanding.

Fast forward a few years, and with all the professional qualifications now under my belt, I’m in the fortunate position of being a full-time, certified running coach on the border of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons). This means I get to draw on everything I’ve learnt and channel it into helping our coached runners achieve their goals, across all abilities”.
