Les Croupiers Running Club, LCRC, are one of the largest running clubs in Wales.
Anyone, regardless of ability, is welcome to join – from fast runners to slow joggers.
LCRC were formed in 1981, mostly from members of Cardiff AAC. and identify as a road running club, although their main competitive league is the Gwent League (a series of five winter season cross-country races).
The name Les Croupiers comes from the casino owned by one of our founder members, Gordon McIlroy, who offered to “put a few bob in” when we started.
For anyone interested in joining, or just in the Cardiff area and wanting some company for a run, the best thing to do is to show up at Llandaff Rugby Club on a Thursday Evening from 6:30pm onward.
We offer five, seven and ten mile routes and will make sure that whatever your pace you will have someone to run with.
There are shower and changing facilities at the club. There is also a bar with hot food available. We encourage as many people as possible to stay on after the run for a drink, a meal and a chat as well as to hear our club announcements.
We have other Club Training Sessions on Monday and Tuesday evenings as well as a Sunday long run. Feel free to attend as many or as few of these sessions as you want.
We also organise a variety of formal and informal social events throughout the year. The best way to find out what we do is to give us a try! We encourage anyone interested in joining to come and run with us a few times. Then if you like what we do you can join.
